In the Maharashtra state there lies a Raigad district in Konkan region towards west of the state. In Raigad there is a town named Harihareshwar, which is 215 - kms from Mumbai.


Harihareshwar is surrounded by 4 mountains on the name of lords Harihareshwar, Brahmadri, Pushpadri and Harshinachal. From the town of Harihareshwar enters the river Savitri making its way towards Arabian Sea. It is said that this place is blessed by lord Shiva, hence the name Dev-Ghar or ‘House of God’. It is one of the finest beaches in Raigad with unexplored nature’s beauty. It has one of the ancient temple Harihareshwar and beach. The water in this beach is green, unpolluted and is pure. One can see there palm clearly under water. The natural graceful soft sands and cool breeze easily comes in minds of people as a option for vacation point. People do visit here during weekends for picnic taking time from there busy schedules in busy cities. The hill on the other side of the shore is sure to attract the minds of people. One can have a unique experience by having journey through boats in beach. This extends from north to south of the temple. Two other beaches named Diveagar and Shrivardhan join this Harihareshwar beach.

 

People usually avoid visiting beaches during monsoon but the best place to visit this beach is June-August because one can explore the true natural beauty of greenery and mountain during these months but with care when you enter in water. Other best time to visit this temple is from November – March.  One can have good hygienic food at low cost here. Besides this the places of interest to visit are Harihareshwar beach resort with good facilities for 24hrs AC and water and deluxe rooms at affordable costs.

             How To Reach

By Air

Nearest Airport is Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, which is nearly 220 km from Harihareshwar.

By Rail

Nearest Railhead is Mangaon, which is 65 - km away from Harihareshwar and this railway station in Konkan rail is well connected to Pune and Mumbai.

By Road

State owned road Transport Corporation Buses connect to all major cities in and around Harihareshwar. Private owned tourist bus services are available form Pune (130 km) and Mumbai (205 km). These tourist buses costs about Rs 3 per kilometer.
